Kim is an Irish orphan boy and is poor. He speaks local Indian dialect and is born in Lahore. His father died when he was very young at age and told him that one day he will befriend red bull on a green field.

As the year passes he meets a Buddhist monk Lama and befriends with him. His journey of adventure began when he decided to become his disciple and his follower. The monk is in search of a sacred river and Kim is ready to help him in finding a sacred river.

The most awaited adventure began when Kim went with Lama to Banaras while leaving Lahore. They followed the path of Grand Trunk Road which headed from Banaras to Calcutta.

Then came another task of when Kim saw the Red Bull on a Green field. It is the flag of Irish troops of the British army. The British army knew Kim’s father and they were fond of Kim’s language, culture and knowledge and found worthy to make him a British spy.

The story of Kim and his experiences of life shows that he was very brave and the smartest young boy. Despite losing his father and mother at a very young age he is not afraid of facing the world alone. Being a poor does not make him sorrowful or cry but he has his own way to perceive the world.

I found this book emotional when I came across the journey of Kim’s life. On the other hand it made me inspired that how a young orphan boy is facing the biggest challenges of his life. In this book Kim’s personality is highly strong and powerful and the way the author has portrayed the story of Kim is incredible.

The struggles of Kim’s life begins from the day when he was born in Lahore. It was god’s grace that he was born to face the world alone. But he never showed his weakness in front of anyone and besides he befriends with the Buddhist monk Lama.

The Buddhist monk Lama finds Kim one of the very special person in this world and praises him for his kindness and loving nature. The bonding between both of them are very strong and they love each other company.

In the end, I would like to say that Kipling’s book is worth the read. I liked it and would also recommend to others that they must read it.
