The Beautiful Journey of Delilah! ( A short story)

On a Sunday evening, the hustle and bustle of people could be seen on a railway station in Darjeeling. As the train started running there was a family with one of their daughter Delilah. They went running after the train to catch and finally after putting a lot of efforts they were inside the train. Their little princess was crying because of the chaos and rushing of the people on a train.

The train was boarding to Delhi and Delilah’s parents David Williams and Angelina Williams were going to visit their mother in law. She was suffering from Anaemia and there was no one to take care of her. Her husband died at a very young age and he worked in a biscuit factory. After the death of her husband she raised her kids and sent them to abroad for higher studies. When they returned from abroad they were got married and led a happy and peaceful life.

As. David Williams and Angelina Williams reached Delhi they could recall the old memories of their family which they spent with them. And Delilah was happy and was eagerly waiting to see her grandmother. When they went to home their mother in law was happy to see their children and tears rolled down from her eyes.

Now their mother in law’s health was a matter of big concern so they took her to the doctor and soon she was admitted in a hospital. During the few days of treatment their mother in law recovered from anaemia and the doctor advised that now she can go to home and take rest for sometime.

The little Delilah hugged her granny and both of them enjoyed the company of each other. They played, they talked for hours and Delilah had a great interest in painting and dancing. And her granny loved to see her doing these stuffs with a keen interest.

David discussed with his wife Angelina to take her mother with them. Angelina was also worried about her mother in law so she also agreed with it. And now they were happy to take her to their home and Delilah was giggling and she liked her granny a lot. Granny was also happy to spend the rest of her life with their children.

When Delilah was in school she was very garrulous and could easily make friends. During her school life she enjoyed the company of her three good friends Rusty, Tom and Christine. There was a great bonding among them and there were many things and interests which were similar among them. Their teachers liked them a lot and always wanted to see them outshining whether it be academics or sports or other extra co curricular activities.

When Delilah completed her school their parents decided to send her to California for further studies. Growing up in a loving and caring family it was not easy for Delilah to go to California and complete her further studies but their parents made her understand that now she has grown and its high time to see the world outside and become independent. So Delilah promised their parents and will go to California for her higher studies.

As Delilah stepped into a new place she was little nervous and she was feeling low because she had just ventured a place which is totally unknown to her and it was very different from her hometown. She was missing her granny and her parents and her school friends.

From the next day her college was started. She had took admission in Journalism because it was something which for her was a great interest. Her first day of college was neither too good nor too bad. She talked to some of her classmates and soon she made friends.

There was a guy in her college who was very handsome and his name was Nick. Every girl in her college was a big fan of him. And he was always seen around numerous girls with whom he flirted. This made Delilah jealous and she didn’t want to see him. But one day when Delilah was in a college campus Nick approached her. She ignored him and said why you have come to me. With a genuine smile Nick said hey pretty lady would you want to be my girlfriend. This brought a hearty laugh to Delilah and she cheerily said yes.

And they went for a date and after completing their studies they got married with the support of their family and lived happily forever.
